Xycom XVME-677

Xycom XVME-677 is a VMEbus PC/AT processor module introduced by XYCOM and is part of the XVME product family. Its main features are similar to those of the XVME-675/674 series and include the following basic specifications and functions:

  • VMEbus interface: Compliant with the VMEbus standard, designed for direct insertion into a VME backplane, and supports both master and slave modes on a 32-bit VME bus.
  • PC/AT compatibility: Internally based on a PC/AT architecture processor (commonly a 100 MHz 80486DX4), compatible with standard PC/AT software and operating systems such as MS-DOS, Windows, and QNX.
  • Storage and memory: Provides 16 MB to 32 MB dual-bank DRAM; optional hard-disk and floppy-disk controllers are available, with support for IDE hard drives.
  • I/O interfaces: Equipped with standard serial ports (RS-232C), a parallel port (Centronics), PS/2 keyboard and mouse interfaces, and a VGA controller (up to 1024 × 768 resolution with 256 colors).
  • Expansion slots: Includes a PC/104 expansion site, allowing additional functional modules to be added.
  • BIOS and software support: Features an onboard Xycom BIOS with INT 15h services and dedicated XVME BIOS call routines. An MS-DOS board support software package is also provided, including sample programs (such as showmem.exe, vintmon.exe, and editmem.exe) and 16-bit library routines to help users quickly develop VMEbus applications.
  • Applications: Suitable for embedded systems requiring high reliability and long product life cycles, such as industrial control, data acquisition, and military/aerospace applications.
