XYCOM XVME-428
XYCOM XVME-428 is an intelligent asynchronous serial communication module based on the VMEbus architecture. Its main features are as follows:
Multi-Port Serial Interface
- Equipped with 8 independent, software-configurable serial ports, compatible with RS-232-C, RS-422-A, or TTL logic levels.
- Each port supports programmable baud rates ranging from 50 to 19.2 kbps, with automatic XON/XOFF flow control and modem-style handshaking.
On-Board Processor
- Integrates a 10 MHz Motorola 68000 CPU responsible for serial port management, protocol processing, and communication with the host system.
- Provides basic serial drivers and programmable logic through firmware.
VMEbus Interface
- Operates as a VME-slave board, using the address space 0x3800–0x3BFF (AM Code 29h/2Dh), allowing direct mapping to the host’s I/O region.
- Supports standard VMEbus protocols for easy integration into industrial control systems.
Application Scenarios
- Well-suited for serial communication needs in semiconductor equipment (etchers, lithography machines, deposition systems, etc.) and industrial automation applications.
